Q: What is a Bid Cart?

A: A Bid Cart is similar to a shopping cart in that it stores or holds lots that you are interested in bidding on. Our bid cart system actually serves two purposes. The first is to hold lots you are placing bids on prior to submission and the other is a place to hold the lots you have bid on. Once your bids have been submitted, you can check your bid cart at any time to see the status of your bids. You can even increase a bid on any lot within your bid cart.

During the Auction
Q: How do I bid?

A: As you locate lots that interests you, enter the maximum amount you wish to bid and click the "submit" button to add that item to your Bid Cart. Bid on as many lots as you like, then click "Submit Bids - Check Out". This will allow you a final review of all your bids before you finalize them. Here you will have the opportunity to change a bid or remove a bid or continue viewing other lots if you wish. Once you are satisfied with the items in your Bid Cart, click the "Submit Bids / Check Out" button. Next you will be asked how you wish to pay for any lot(s) you may win. Next you will see a summary page just prior to final submission; here you have an opportunity to authorize us to increase your bids by a percentage, break tie bids and leave us any special instructions. Now click "Continue with Checkout" and print a copy of your finalized bid sheet. We will send you a system generated E-mail within minutes confirming your bids were sent and then a follow up E-mail confirming your bids have been received.

Q: What is an opening bid, proxy bidding, and how does bidding work?

A: Let's assume you find something that you want to bid on, and you are willing to bid up to $30.00 for it, but the current/opening bid price is only $10.00. Because lots are sold at one increment above the next acceptable high bid, you could constantly check your bid day by day and go back and forth outbidding new bidders as they slowly increase your previous high bid by $1.00 increments until you get to your desired maximum bid of $30.00. Proxy bidding takes the work out of it for you and here is how it works:

1.Determine the maximum amount you are willing to pay and enter it.

2.Our system will incrementally increase your bid as required up to your maximum bid amount. Your maximum bid is confidential; no other bidders are aware how high you are willing to bid. By bidding this way, you do not need to constantly check your bid unless you want to. You will either win the lot at or below your bid, or someone else willing to bid more will win the lot.

3. An example of how proxy bidding works is as follows: Let's say there are three bids of $10, $15 and $30, we would use $15 (the 2nd highest) and add one increment to it ($1 at this level) and establish a current/opening bid of $16. Only the high bidder of $30 knows how much "room" he/she has before they run the risk of being outbid.

4. NEVER worry about being sniped! Our LIVE Extended Mode System eliminates sniping. To learn more about our LIVE Extended Mode, and how to participate, click here.

Q: Can I add a percent (%) advance when I increase my bid?

A: Unlike the initial bidding process where you have the option to increase your bid by a percentage, you can not increase your bid and add a percentage inside the Bid Cart. Instead just submit your MAXIMUM proxy bid.

Q: Can I increase my bid on an existing lot?

A: Yes. At anytime you can increase your bid. You do this by clicking the link Review Bids Already Placed. Here you will see the status of all your bids. Simply enter the amount of your bid in the "Your Maximum Bid: $" field and click the "Increase my bid!" button and your screen will refresh itself revealing the new status of your bid. This is helpful if you may not be able to raise your bid at a later date or be available during the LIVE EXTENDED MODE portion of the auction at 9:00 PM EST the night of the auction.

Q: Can I delete my bid?

A: This is only acceptable under very special circumstances; please contact us at 800-852-0076. If you bid on an item, you are obligated to complete the transaction. Placing a bid is considered a legal, binding contract. Please familiarize yourself with our Community Guidelines by clicking here.

Q: Will you send me an E-mail if I'm outbid?

A: Yes. We will send outbid notices if you are outbid on any lot. Please remember that E-mail can travel slowly, and that any outbid notices sent to you near the close of the auction may not get to you in time. If you keep an eye on your Bid Cart during our LIVE Extended Mode (3:00 PM EST the day of the auction), you will be able to see all changes to the status of your bids.

Q: What happens if I increase my already high bid?

A: If you are the current high bidder and wish to increase that bid even more, you can do it without bidding against yourself. Because we use proxy bidding, you can increase your high bid as high as you wish.

Q: Who do I contact if I have a question regarding an item?

A: We have a "Questions?" link on every lot. Click this link to send us an E-mail or call us toll-free 800-852- 0076 if you prefer.

Q: What is LIVE Extended Mode and how does it work?

A: LIVE Extended Auction Mode will begin at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time Zone the day of the auction. There will be concurrent 5 minute periods in which to modify bids. If there is any bidder activity on a given lot within the initial 5 minute period, regardless of when the activity occurs, that 5 minute period will proceed for the entire 5 minutes and a new 5 minute period will start. Bidding will continue until there is no activity for any 5 minute period on any given lot. This procedure eliminates "sniping" and gives all participants the same chance of winning any given lot. Only those bids originally processed through our On-line Bid Cart System can participate.

Q: When does the auction end?

A: The auction will end on the date specified on our home page. Internet bidders may place new bids up until 2:45 PM EST the day of the auction. Then, starting at 3:00 PM EST, our LIVE Extended Auction Mode will begin and will continue until all bidder activity ends. To learn more about our Live Extended Mode and how it works, click here now. No NEW bids can be placed online after 2:45 PM EST, but you can increase any bids already placed that reside in your bid cart.

After the Auction
Q: How can I find out what a lot sold for?

A: If you bid in the auction and wish to find out what your lots sold for, simply click the link "My Prior Auction Results" the morning after the auction. Prices realized for the entire sale are not published as we need to remove the prior auction in order to load the next auction for viewing

Q: What do I do if I win something?

A: We will send you an E-mail invoice the day after the auction closes with the total due. If you had previously authorized us to charge your credit card, we will E-mail the paid invoice. We will not send paper invoices except with the actual lots. If you wish to pay by check please print the email and send it along with your payment.
